You're training to compete against the best,so take a look at your competition: More times then not they will employ APT gear in some fashion to help them reach their extreme goals, and so should you. Flat out, the best use the best: www.ProWristStraps.com

couldnt have said it better
What a great article and so true. I am just a stay at home mum of 5 young children who happens to be a triathlete as well. I am average age grouper, but I train like an athlete and it motivates me every day. The fit body comes as a bonus!!!! If only others would look at it this way!

SInce i dont have a particular sport that i compete in, people always ask me why i train so hard and diligently. I say "No, I dont have a sport, but that doesnt mean i cant train like an athelete... you should think about that for a minute"

Great article! It really hit home with me because I just started competing (mountain bike racing) and so far I'm competing mostly against myself
But just the fact that you have an upcoming race changes your focus. I also agree with Justin about training like an athlete regardless...

Excellent Article!
Right on guys! We are striving everyday to convince our athletes that they are just that! The 2nd annual Crossfit Games helped to this end... essentially making a sport of high intensity training. We have both professional athletes, military personnel and 'everyday joes' who are seeing the light that 'practicing' high intensity training is where progress lies. Y'all are doing great work, and I gain knowledge with every email and visit! Please keep up the good work!

Awesome, i like biking =)
Seriously most people think im crazy for training like i train... i cannot honestly explain that i just love training. Every aspect of it... the progress made, the sweat, the dedication, i love it.
I feel bad for those poor people on the treadmill at the club "Burning calories" for the sake of burning calories. Sounds like a layer of hell to me. I look forward to my hour every other night of dedicated training.
Also, further proof that "strength training" aids with other activities... i went on a long bike ride (30 miles) and kept up, never was "winded".

Welcome to the forums man!
I have done some crossfit routines in the past... they are BRUTAL but awesome.
I compare it to EDT in ways... very high intensity, you compete versus yourself, and what you put in you get out of.
brilliant.
