I got a great email from Layne Norton one of the presenters at he conference and wanted top share a correction / addition he gave.
Phil,
I read your review of the ISSN on staleytraining.com and I wanted to thank you for the kind remarks. However, I must correct you, I am not a PhD yet, I am just a candidate. Also, you mentioned that other researchers thought that perhaps protein synthesis was falling off during the refractory period because other amino acid levels were dropping... I wish someone had asked that question. We actually looked at that, and NONE of them had fallen past baseline at 3 hours post meal and MOST of them were still elevated significantly above baseline. I actually had that thought as well, but it seems like that is not the case. The refractory nature of protein synthesis is independant of amino acid levels.
Just thought you might be interested.
